The Planning Board is looking to fill a vacancy of an unexpired elected five-year term through April 2022 on its Board. This position will be appointed jointly by the Town Council and the Planning Board at the July 12th, 2021 Town Council meeting.

Positions that are held on the Planning Board are elected, so the appointed applicant will need to run for election if they wish to remain on the Board after April 2022.
The Board meets monthly on the second and Fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. or as needed currently via Zoom. The Planning Board studies the resources, possibilities, and needs of the Town. The Board has the power to make a comprehensive or master plan, setting forth policies to govern the future growth and development of the Town. The Board has the power to regulate the subdivision of land within the Town by the enactment of rules and regulations.

The Planning Board makes recommendations at Town Meeting on all proposed warrant articles which affect land use and development, including, but not limited to, proposals to amend the zoning bylaw and zoning map. Those interested in applying are instructed to complete the Application for Appointment and send via email along with a resume to Sherri Dalton, Executive Assistant by Monday, June 21th, 2021 by 4:30 p.m.
