K-9 Luna Joins Wakefield Police Department
Meet the newest – and furriest – member of the Wakefield Police Department.
WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Police Department recently welcomed its newest officer, Luna, a 5-month-old American Field Labrador.
Luna was donated to the department by Foxbend Labradors in Hillsborough, NH.
After a competitive process, Officer Ryan Doran was selected to be Luna's handler. Together, they will be trained in tracking lost and missing people and searching for drugs and evidence. Luna will live with Officer Doran and his family while not on duty.

"Luna is very friendly and loves to meet new people so if you see her around town make sure to introduce yourself," Wakefield police said.
