Karen MacKinnon Passes Away

Wakefield resident was a member of the Reading Memorial High School class of 1974.

Karen A . (Richardson) MacKinnon, of Wakefield, formerly of Reading, passed away on Monday, Feb. 5th. She was 61 years of age.

Born in Melrose, Karen was the daughter of the late Elwood and Jean (Tufts) Richardson.

Karen raised in Reading and graduated from Reading High School class of 1974. She loved to do ceramics, knitting and crocheting. Karen loved to go on motorcycle rides on her husbands motorcycle. Together, they traveled and and went camping many times. Most importantly, Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand children. They were first and foremost in her life.

Karen was the beloved wife of Frederic MacKinnon. She was the loving mother of Jennifer Mickle and her husband Brad, Freddy MacKinnon, and Cody MacKinnon and his fiance Maryellen Bradbury. She was the devoted grandmother of Andrew, Chrys, Kyle, Harper and Connor. Dear sister of Linda Rindone and her husband Mike, John Richardson and his wife Stephine, Helen Pelley and her husband Bob, Jim Richardson and his wife Lisa, Cheryl Brunetta and her husband Tony and the late Pete Richardson and his surviving wife Ginny. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St., Reading, Sat., Feb. 10th from 1-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Karen's Eternal Life in the funeral home at 2 pm. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
