Marie Cooke Passes Away

Cooke was one of the original owners of Accardi Foods in Medford.

Marie Cooke of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 15th at the age of 73.

Daughter of the late John and Mary DeVirgilio. (Accardi). Loving wife of 51 years to Richard Cooke. Mother of Marlena Bresnick and her husband Lou Bresnick of Andover, and Michael Cooke and his wife Lynda Cooke of Stoneham. Loving grandmother to Jessica, Gabriella, Jamison Bresnick and Bobby Cooke. Devoted sister to Joanne Jaffe and her husband Haskell, Anthony DeVirgilio and his wife Bernadette, John DeVirgilio and his wife Beverly.

Marie is one of the original owners of Accardi Foods in Medford, a successful Italian food distributor throughout New England. Marie will be remembered by her generous spirit, love of cooking and spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) Stoneham, Friday, Jan. 19th at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Marie's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9 am.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Thursday, Jan. 18th from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.

Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Marie's name to the Susan G. Komen (breast cancer research) or the American Heart Association.
