Massacuhsetts Department Of Transportation Will Perform Work On Hopkins Street Bridge In Wakefield

Traffic across the bridge will be granted for emergency access.

The Massacuhsetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be performing work on the Hopkins Street bridge that will result in road closures and detours. Hopkins Street, between Tarrant Lane and Brook Street, will have no through-traffic on August 10, 11, and 12. UPDATE: MassDOT has informed the Town of Wakefield that this closure will also include Monday, August 17, 2020.

Residential access is allowed at the following locations:

  • North of the bridge through Tarrant Lane, and
  • South of the bridge through Brook Street.

Traffic across the bridge will be granted for emergency access.

Construction operations (bridge deck surface texturing and milling and paving bridge approaches) is scheduled for 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. Normal traffic operations will resume after 4 p.m. The Wakefield Police Department will be notified and traffic detail officers will be requested.
