MBTA Proposing Cuts That Will Impact Wakefield

The MBTA’s proposed “Forging Ahead” initiative will directly impact service within Wakefield. Among other changes, their proposal includes eliminating the 136 bus route, discontinuing weekend commuter rail service, ending weekday commuter rail service at 9 p.m., and stopping subway service at midnight.

There are two opportunities this week to learn more about their proposal: virtual calls on December 1 (regional) and December 2 (system wide). You can also provide feedback to the MBTA via webform and email.
