If you’re disappointed you missed the window to purchase a discounted rain barrel or wish you had compost to feed your summer garden, you’re in luck!  The Department of Public Works (DPW) is offering residents a rodent-resistant, at-home composting bin from Earth Machine for just $49.95, half of its retail price, and 55-gallon Systern rain barrels for $69.95. Purchases must be made by June 16, 2021. See additional product information and make your purchase.

Prefer to compost curbside? The DPW has had tremendous response to its partnership with Black Earth Compost. As an incentive to get involved with the optional program, the Town is offering residents a free curbside starter kit, which includes a 13-gallon bin and roll of 13-gallon compostable liners. Only 75 kits are still available. In addition to food waste, including egg shells, coffee grounds, and meat bones, the weekly compost program also accepts items like popsicle sticks, houseplants, paper towels, and cooking oil.
