The last of three interactive Vision2030 meetings will take place via Zoom on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 7 to 9 p.m. Topics to be discussed at this meeting include diversity and inclusion; health, safety, resiliency, and vulnerable communities; promoting lifelong learning and community development; and fostering community spirit and volunteerism.

Led by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), the visioning process presents brief informative content on 12 visioning topics across three public forums and engages participants with purposeful questions to elicit community input on “common ground” goals and shared values. A community survey will be open after each meeting to provide additional opportunity for feedback.

The end result of this process will be an illustrated plan report. It will feature a visual executive summary with a poster-style spatial framework; a community vision and values statement; and potential strategies for subsequent community action on how to achieve shared goals. The non-technical, user-friendly resource document can inform future discussions and be a reference for boards, committees, and other Town leaders.

This project is possible, in part, through a Technical Assistance Program grant from the MAPC. Learn about the Vision2030 initiative at https://www.wakefield.ma.us/vision-2030.
