Wakefield Clerk Reminds Voters of Important Election Dates

Wakefield is reminding voters of important dates for the upcoming primary election.

WAKEFIELD, MA - The Wakefield town clerk is reminding voters of important dates for the upcoming primary election. In a release, Betsy Sheeran, town clerk, reminded voters in Wakefield that the following date pertains to the up-coming primary election of Thursday, September 8.

"The last day to register to vote or to change political party affiliation is Friday, August 19. The Town Clerk’s office will be open until 8:00 p.m. on that date," the release said. "Please be advised that a voter, specifically enrolled in one of the four (4) parties in Massachusetts, may take a ballot only for the party to which the voter is enrolled. If you are unenrolled commonly referred to as “Independent,” you may select a ballot for either the Democratic, Republican, Green-Rainbow or United Independent Party."
