Wakefield Hiker Rescued After Fall At Bridal Veil Falls
Woman hurts leg after fall at popular Franconia-area hike.

FRANCONIA, NH - A Wakefield woman was rescued Saturday after falling and injuring her leg at a popular hiking spot in Franconia, NH.
At approximately 1:23 p.m. Saturday, New Hampshire Fish & Game Conservation Officers received a call that Wakefield's Charlene Livingston Flint had fallen and suffered a lower leg injury that left her unable to walk, stranding her at Bridal Veil Falls in Franconia. The area is part of a 4.8 mile trail in the White Mountain National Forest, with the major attraction a 35-foot tall main plunge that has the characteristics of a bride's veil.
Conservation Officers and volunteers from the PEMI Valley Search and Rescue team responded to the trail head to carry Flint out. Rescuers were able to use all-terrain vehicles to get two miles up the trail, and at 4:51 p.m. rescuers arrived back at the trailhead where Flint was evaluated by medical personnel and then transport by her hiking partners to Littleton Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
