WAKEFIELD, MA - Tomorrow afternoon at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, county and town officials will issue a water safety alert and a simulated drowning rescue. Speakers will highlight important water safety tips including how to recognize the signs of drowning, the risks of swimming alone, and how parents can keep children safe around water this summer, a release said.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Captain Merri Walker, Massachusetts Environmental Police, Wakefield Police Chief Richard Smith, Wakefield Fire Chief Michael Sullivan, Action Ambulance CEO Michael Woronka and Executive Director Adam Rodgers of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield will speak at the event, a release said.
Following remarks, public safety officials from Stoneham Fire, Stoneham PD and Action Ambulance will perform a simulated drowning rescue and emergency response.
