
The Wakefield Building Inspector's May report was recently released and shows that the town permitted roughly $1.4 million in home construction and renovations last month.
For that total amount of work, the town collected $18,087 in building permit fees.Â
Projects in May consisted of 1 home construction, one pool construction, roughly 260 inspections, either plumbing, electrical or building.
The building department issued a total of 97 permits for plumbing, electrical or building. Â
Some home projects included a $16,000 construction of a season sun room, a $13,600 conversion of an existing porch into a screened-in room, and a $76,000 bedroom addition and bathroom remodel.
