Wakefield Police Investigating Early-Morning Garage Shooting

Police found a woman in her 20s suffering from gunshot wounds in a local parking garage and do not believe the shooting was a random act.

WAKEFIELD, MA – A woman in her 20s was found in a Wakefield parking garage early Tuesday morning with gunshot wounds in a shooting that police do not believe was random.

The woman, who has not been identified by police, was found in the parking garage at 14 Audubon Road at 3:30 Tuesday morning. Police did not specify the nature or severity of the gunshot wounds but the woman was treated at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.

Police did not release any further information regarding the incident or their investigation but said that they do not believe the public is in danger as they do not believe the shooting was a random act. The case is currently being investigated by the Wakefield Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
