Wakefield Restaurants: 5 Top-Rated Restaurants in Town

Here are Wakefield's most highly rated restaurants!

WAKEFIELD,MA— The Greater Boston area is a hub of culinary excellence, and Wakefield is no different.

Wakefield features restaurants of all shapes and sizes. From Thai Restaurants to Diners, there is something for every palate to savor in the city. Here are the five most highly rated restaurants in the city according to Yelp.

  1. Red Sugar Cafe, 24 Vernon Street

Lily Z. of Wakefield writes: I love love love this place! im a big fan of crispy crab rangoons, and Red Sugar has theirs down to an art. the wontons are really thin and get nice and crisp, while the inside is flavorful. YUM! I tried Red sugar for the first time with my boyfriend and his friend that he teaches Judo to. We went all together after the lesson and I had the drunken noodles. My boyfriend got the Red Curry. Both were really really good. I also asked for a lot of extra egg inside my drunken noodles and they did not disappoint. usually when i ask for extra egg they just put the same amount of eggs and say its extra. here they put EXTRA. which is exactly how i like it. The flavor was excellent in both the noodles and the curry. I used to work in a small thai restaurant in Woburn, and their curries are delicious, but I think these are better. The prices are kind of expensive here but the better quality of the dishes are worth it. I plan on going back soon, but I wish they would open for Lunch! I work right down the street and i have been telling my co workers about it but its only open for dinner. Boo. Also, the place is Bring your own beer, so If you like to have a drink with your dinner keep that in mind! Also, there is not much seating so I’d be open to take out if you are going during a dinner rush.

3. Blue Moon Grill, 955 Main Street

Alberto J. of Atlanta, GA writes: Simply put, wonderful breakfast!!! When we first called to make a reservation it sounded like they were overwhelmed, but it was just that the lady who takes reservations is multitasking like a champ!!! The staff was exceptionally friendly, responsive and effective! They run a full house as if they’ve been doing it for an extended amount of years. The breakfast we had was the stuff of legend. Seriously. Their sweet potatoes hash browns are a must. They come at an up charge from their potatoes (which we didn’t try) but they’re the best sweet potatoes I’ve had ever. I ordered a three eggs and corned beef hash and the eggs were perfectly over medium as requested (not all restaurants accomplish that). Coffee refills were readily available at all times. My girlfriend ordered an artichoke omelette and called it the best omelette she ever had. Josie was our server and she was amazing and greatly attentive. Thank you Blue Moon Grill! We will definitely be coming back again and again.

4. Morena’s Cucina Rustica, 23 Broadway Street

Morena’s is my favorite Italian Restaurant, and has been for years. They have authentic Italian dishes and amazing pizza. The Stracciatella Soup is a MUST have, every time, no questions asked. Pedro and the entire staff are beyond friendly and the food is amazing.

5. Brothers Deli Restaurant, 404 Main Street

Fresh food, friendly service, always seating available. You can’t go wrong for breakfast or lunch at Brother’s! It’s cafeteria style, with daily specials and original favorites. I recommend eggs, omelets, hash, and BLT.
