Wakefield Vets Push For Reserved Town Hall Parking Spot
The Wakefield Veterans Advisory Board is asking Wakefield to designate a parking spot at Town Hall specifically for those who have served.

WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Veterans Advisory Board is asking Wakefield to designate a parking spot at Town Hall specifically for veterans.
A state law called the "BRAVE Act" says a municipality can dedicate a spot with the words "Veteran Parking Only— this space is reserved for those who have served. Unauthorized Vehicles May Be Removed At The Vehicle Owner's Expense."
The Board suggests Wakefield should follow the language the "BRAVE Act" suggests, even though some alter it. Melrose, for instance, dedicated a City Hall parking spot in March with the words "Veteran Parking Only — Thank You For Your Service — One Hour Parking."

The Board also suggests painting a logo or color on the spot to give it added recognition.
Town Council has the item on Monday night's agenda.
