Wakefield's John Robinson Passes Away

Longtime town resident was a graduate of Wakefield High School.

An obituary from the Barile Family Funeral Home:

John A. Robinson, 79, beloved son of the late Ronald A. and Mildred (Woods) Robinson, passed away on Thursday, March 14th, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Born in Melrose on December 4, 1939, John grew up in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He attended and graduated from Northeastern University. After graduating college, John was a school teacher and then for many years, worked at the New England Telephone Company. His work ethic kept him busy through out his life, always having to do something. He was a Mason, and a member of the First Congregational Church in Stoneham. John enjoyed collecting stamps, a lover of chocolate and always had a good sense of humor. He was a devoted father and devoted son to his parents.

John is the loving father of John Robinson, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Stony Point, New York, Jeffrey Robinson and his husband William of Newburyport and Jason Robinson and his wife Theresa of Wakefield. Cherished grandfather of John Thomas Robinson and Shannon Robinson. He is also the former husband of the late Joan (Nelson) Robinson.

A Celebration of John's Life will be held in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Rt 28) Stoneham on Monday at 12 pm. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held on Tuesday at the Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
