Car Crashes into Parked Fire Truck at Walpole Fire Station

A car coming out of the Walpole Cooperative Bank Saturday morning ended up crashing into a Walpole Fire Truck parked in the bay at the Fire Station.

The car, driven by a woman in her early 80s, hit Engine 6 head on at 9:45 a.m. on August 10, Walpole Fire Captain Paul Carter said. Engine 6 was parked about 5 feet into the garage at the time.

The driver was transported via ambulance to Boston Medical Center as a precaution, with non-life threatening injuries, Carter said.

There were no injuries to any firefighters, but Engine 6 sustained "significant damage," Carter said.
