School of Music Announcing 2015 Open House

DSM is excited to be holding an open house on Saturday September 12 from 11am to 1pm at the Dedham Community House (671 High Street). This open house is an opportunity to meet some of the teachers at DSM and let children try out instruments. This open house also features some unique special events showcasing a new course and two new teachers at DSM:

• A 10 minute test drum lesson will be given by our new faculty member Sergio Bellotti, an acclaimed jazz drummer and a member of the faculty of Berklee.
  

• A 15 minute demo of our new Dalcroze Eurhythmics class for children aged 3-5 will also be given. Eurhythmics is an innovative style of learning music for young children that focuses on teaching students to express what they hear through physical body movements, though it also incorporates other techniques such as ear training. This is new class helps form the foundation of music learning that will aid children for their entire musical careers.
