First Responders Called In Walpole For Active Gas Leak

There's a heavy police presence on East and Diamond Streets.

WALPOLE, MA — An active gas leak in Walpole brought first responders out to East and Diamond streets in town. Residents complained of "an overwhelming smell of gas."

The call was made around 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Walpole fire crews were on scene to handle the issue, Norwood companies covered the station while Walpole crews took the call.

The cause of the leak is unknown. Residents were warned to avoid the area.
