Researchers this week said they tagged four great white sharks off Cape Cod, prompting a shark warning for beachgoers.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said researchers tagged the sharks near Chatham Monday. Last month, 17 great whites were spotted off Cape Cod—mostly in the Chatham area.

Researchers said the sharks are swimming closer to shore than usual. There have been no shark attacks on humans so far this summer on the Cape. The last attack was in 2012 off the coast of Truro. The victim, a man, survived a bit to the leg.
