Rock On Adventure Offering Circus Skills Camps This Summer

From Rock On Adventure: Rock On Adventure, Norwood’s indoor kids’ gym for climbing and active exercise, has partnered with Cirque Us! to offer the opportunity to “run away with the circus” at day camps this summer. Campers will learn a wide variety of circus disciplines, from Acrobatics, including tumbling, partner acrobatics, and human pyramids, to Aerials such as fabric, trapeze, lyra and rope. Juggling will be offered, with balls, rings, clubs, diabolo, devil sticks and hula hoops. Of course, Clowning will be taught as well.

Cirque Us! is a new, modern circus collective based in New England and founded in 2016 by Walpole resident Doug Stewart. The mission of Cirque Us! is to bring high-level, affordable circus shows to local communities, spreading the values of teamwork and the importance of play. The artists, who all discovered the love of circus as kids, come from across the country and consist of Circus Smirkus Alumni, students at the New England Center for Circus Arts, École Nationale de Cirque and École de Cirque de Quebec. The performers are excited to be coaching at Rock On Adventure Camps this summer. “These camps are a great alternative to traditional sports camps, and a way for kids to learn the self-discipline of circus arts, said Stewart. All camp staff are performers in Cirque Us! with coaching credentials including Circus Smirkus Summer Camp, Beaver Summer Camp, New England Center for Circus Arts and Aircraft Aerial Arts.

Rock On Adventure was founded with the goal of providing a fun, safe indoor climbing and fitness experience for kids. A variety of classes, camps and birthday parties are available.
