Small Fire Extinguished In Norfolk Prison
The fire was detected in one of the machines inside of the facility.
NORFOLK, MA — A fire broke out inside of the correctional facility in Norfolk on Thursday. MCI Norfolk officials said the fire started in a machine inside of the facility and was quickly taken care of by the Norfolk Fire Department.
The fire broke out just before 2:30 p.m. No injuries were reported and all inmates were accounted for, according to MCI Norfolk officials.
Once the area was deemed safe by Norfolk fire officials, the facility returned to normal operations by 2:45 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation but no foul-play is suspected.
