Here’s the top 10 hottest September days ever, including today’s high temperatures as of 3 p.m. Worcester’s high so far was 90 on Tuesday, the other three climate sites have reached 96 degrees.

Boston Logan officially reached 96 degrees as of 2:05 p.m., according to forecasters, and that broke the previous record of 95 set in 2007.

For example, Providence hit 97 as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 96, set in 1945, according to NWS forecasters. Worcester has fallen short of any records thus far, but has had its first 90 degree day of the year.

The sweltering temperatures are expected to continue on Wednesday.
