Truck Overturns onto Walpole Resident's Lawn

Wet and snowy road conditions were to blame for a box truck that rolled over onto its side on top of a Common Street lawn earlier this week.

The male driver was uninjured in the accident at the corner of Common and Ossipee Streets.

“Basically we’ve got to chalk that one up to the weather," Walpole Deputy Police Chief Carmichael said.

The truck was travelling east on Common Street at around 11 a.m. when "he lost control in the snow. The truck spun and hit the stone wall in front of [385 Common Street] and the inertia just caused it flip over on its side,” Carmichael said.

The man was able to climb out of the truck on his own and refused medical transport.

Carmichael said the driver would not be cited in the crash.
