Vehicle Crashes into Main Street Building in Walpole Tuesday
Driver said she thought she was in "reverse" when she was actually in "drive" and struck the 883 Main St. building.
A motor vehicle struck a pillar to at 883 Main St. in Walpole Tuesday morning, leaving some cosmetic damage to the building but nothing significant, according to the Walpole Fire Department.
Walpole Fire's Michael Laracy said there were no injuries and the accident was at slow speed. The call came in at around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver of the vehicle, who asked not to be identified, said she was in drive when she thought she was in reverse and hit the building.

Initial reports indicate no structural damage.
Laracy said this is the second such incident at this building since 2009, where the vehicle actually crashed into the UPS store at the time. No one was hurt in that September 2009 crash.

“It’s actually in the same area,” Laracy said. “In Walpole, we’ve had our share of vehicles into buildings. Even in the same complex right behind Westbury Farms restaurant there’s a nail salon that’s had two accidents as well.”
