Walpole Actor, Aimee Doherty, Stars in Cabaret

Walpole actor, Aimee Doherty, will star in Moonbox Productions’ upcoming musical, Cabaret, opening on April 14^th and running through April 29^th at the Boston Center for the Arts Calderwood Pavilion – Wimberly Theater, 527 Tremont Street, Boston. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays/Saturdays at 8 pm, Sat/Sun matinees 2 pm. There will also be a performance on Sunday, April 15^th at 7:00pm. Cabaret is a gritty, sexy and thought-provoking musical about a society on the brink of catastrophic change. Set during the rise of the Nazis in 1930s Germany, this hard-hitting story revolves around the seedy Kit Kat Klub where patrons, captivated by the decadent allure, come to escape the deteriorating outside world. Written by the incomparable team of John Kander (music), Fred Ebb (lyrics) and Joe Masteroff (book), Cabaret is a sumptuous and provocative musical which is more relevant now than ever, exploring the devastating results of authoritarianism, bigotry, and cultural upheaval in times of political change. Musical numbers include well-known classics of the musical stage like “Money,” “Mein Herr,” “Willkommen,” “Maybe This Time,” and of course “Cabaret.”

As with each show, Moonbox Productions partners with a local non-profit giving them visibility on their website and in their promotional materials, as well as giving them access to their audiences to raise awareness of their cause, create connections within the community, and increase the reach and impact of their work. For the production of Cabaret, Moonbox will be partnering with FamilyAid Boston.

FamilyAid Boston works to prevent and end homelessness, one family at a time. They embrace a comprehensive approach that focuses on the individual strengths of each family and provide services to meet each family’s unique needs. FamilyAid Boston provides shelter and support services to over 800 homeless families, including more than 1,500 children, every year and provides assistance to approximately 280 families each night. As one of the largest service providers for homeless families in the city, FamilyAid Boston provides parents and children with shelter and housing, empowers them to overcome barriers, and works with them to build foundations for future stability and success.

This amazing non-profit is doing incredibly important work here in our city, not merely by providing shelter to homeless families, but also helping those families at every stage of their journey to becoming stable and self-sufficient.”
