Walpole PD Give Special Ceremony To New Lieutenant, Yale Grad

WALPOLE, MA — Social distancing didn't stop the Walpole Police Department from congratulating one of their own on moving up the ranks. Walpole resident Kaitlin Porter was commissioned to the rank of 2nd lieutenant after graduating from Yale University and completing the United States Air Force ROTC program.

Porter was recognized with the Distinguished Graduate Award ranking amongst the top ten percent of ROTC candidates in the country.

The department made the most of the COVID-restricted celebration and brought the ceremony right to Porter's home. The Walpole Police Department Honor Guard marched by the house, posted the colors of the greatest nation on earth, presented arms and Porter rendered her first salute as an Officer of the United States Airforce.
