WALPOLE, MA — A Franklin woman who was reported missing was found safe by a Walpole police officer on Tuesday night. The woman, Kayla Quagan, 35 of Franklin, was reported missing on Saturday after she was last seen with her dog that morning.

Franklin and other local departments spread the word of her disappearance but highlighted that she appeared to be out of contact "by her own choice." The investigation remained open and Quagan was entered into a national missing persons database.

Video of Quagan appeared in areas nearby. Walpole Chief of Police John Carmichael tweeted on Wednesday that Officer Rouhana found Quagan while on patrol. The officer conducted a well-being check and verified that Quagan is doing well.
