Walpole Student Kept Inside Due to Nearby Shooting Investigation

WALPOLE, MA — Due to the shooting investigation on Route 1, students at the Walpole Public Schools are being kept inside.

The Walpole Public Schools tweeted out that due to the investigation at the Econo Lodge on Route 1, students are being kept inside as a precaution and will be dismissed at the usual times.

At 10:46 a.m., gunshots were reported in the area near the motel. Upon arrival, Sharon police determined that several rounds were fired outside of the motel. Reports from the scene say that police are searching for a male suspect. Photos show police tape blocking off an area of the property and Mick Morgans.

Police have confirmed that a gun has been recovered in a nearby neighborhood. No arrests have been made and no victims have been located.
