Decades-Old Watertown Restaurant Closing

The eatery is shutting its doors after more than 30 years because "business is just not consistent," the owner told the Boston Globe.

WATERTOWN, MA – A Watertown mainstay is on its way out. After more than 30 years in business, Strip-T's on School Street is shutting its doors, according to the Boston Globe. Owner Paul Maslow, who opened the restaurant in 1986 after years working in the Boston restaurant scene, told the Globe he's closing Strip-T's because "business is just not consistent."

The eatery slowly grew its fanbase for years, first offering lunch, and then lunch and dinner, until Maslow's son joined the team in 2011. Tim Maslow, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and veteran of the New York restaurant scene, helped turn Strip-T's into a greater Boston hotspot.

The space at 93 School St. is now on the market. An official closing date has not yet been named.
