Man Who Found Boston Marathon Bomber In His Boat Dies

The hunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in 2013 culminated in a tense standoff at David Henneberry's Watertown home.

WATERTOWN, MA – The Watertown man who found Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev hiding in his boat and effectively helped end the manhunt for the suspect has died. David Henneberry, a resident of Franklin Street, was 70.

Henneberry rose to national prominence when he alerted police to Tsarnaev's location, resulting in a tense standoff that ended the hours-long manhunt for the bombers on April 19, 2013. In an interview with the Boston Globe, Henneberry said he noticed some padding was out of place on his boat, the Slip Away II, and went to investigate.
