Memorial Service Scheduled For Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio
Orangio, diagnosed with cancer late last year, passed away Tuesday at 51.

WATERTOWN, MA β A funeral service for Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Parish. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Nov. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Paris.
Orangio passed away Tuesday, months after announcing his decision to step down while fighting pancreatic cancer. He served as chief for 13 years and had been with the department since 1989.
"This will undoubtedly leave a hole in the hearts of the hundreds of us that have been fortunate enough to work with him through decades of service," the Watertown firefighter union wrote on Facebook.

Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio, age 51 of Maynard formerly of Watertown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Loving son to Pasqualina (D'Angelis) and the late Albert Orangio. Beloved husband to Sandra (Robak) Orangio. Devoted father of Katlyn Orangio & her fiance Brian O'Connor, Jaclyn Orangio and Jocelyn Orangio. Much loved Papa to Harper Jean O'Connor. Dear brother of Angela Orangio & her husband Ed DiRamio and Joseph Orangio & his wife Lisa. Son in law to Dolores Robak and Walter 'Sonny' Robak & his wife Rita. Brother in law to Brian, Robin, Susan Falco & her husband Bob. Dear uncle to Jennifer Orangio & her fiancee Dave, Liana, Carissa, Paul, Jimmy, Anna, Bobby, Brandon, Gianna & Jackson.

Visiting hours will be held in St. Patrickβs Parish, 212 Main St. Watertown on Thursday November 9th from 4 - 8 pm. All may gather on Friday November 10th at 10 AM in St. Patrickβs Parish for a Funeral Mass. Burial to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
