Mystery Radio Theatre and King Lear presented by WCT

Online theatre is alive and well at the Mosesian Center for the Arts

Watertown Children’s Theatre presents Mystery Radio Theatre and King Lear this winter online from the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Continuing to explore the possibilities of what is possible for theatre online, WCT offers two very different theatrical experiences on back to back weekends.

Mystery Radio Theatre features a 6th-9th grade cast performing two classic radio plays: Lady Molly of Scotland Yard: The Frewin Miniatures by Baroness Orczy and The Adventure of the Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, both adapted as radio plays by Jeremy B. Holstein of Somerville’s Post-Meridian Radio Players, who partnered with WCT and MCA on this event, and offered a workshop on Foley artistry as a companion to the production. These two radio plays will be performed as a set on January 29 & 30 at 7 pm.

King Lear by William Shakespeare features an 8th-12th grade cast in a contemporary online setting that highlights the timelessness of this story of leadership, family and fate. Performances will be February 5 & 6 at 7pm. This production contains mature content and may not be appropriate for all audience members.
