Shake Shack Opening At Watertown's Arsenal Yards

Developers on Wednesday announced the addition of the popular burger and shake chain to the upcoming mixed-use neighborhood.

WATERTOWN, MA – Boylston Properties and The Wilder Companies on Wednesday announced the addition of Shake Shack to the upcoming Arsenal Yards mixed-use neighborhood. The development is expected to be completely open by 2020 and feature 250,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, 200,000 square feet of office and life science space, 425 residences and a 150-room Hampton Inn & Suites, as well as open space and pathways.

In addition to burgers and hand-spun milkshakes, the Shake Shack menu will include chicken sandwiches, frozen custard shakes, crinkle cut fries and more. The restaurant will be built with recycled and sustainable materials and it will partner with local food vendors to create a selection of frozen custard concretes. A portion of the proceeds from one of the concretes will be donated to a local charity partner.

"We’re thrilled to bring Shake Shack to Arsenal Yards," Andrew McCaughan, vice president of development at Shake Shack, said in a statement. "East End Watertown is a unique, culturally rich community that holds tremendous potential for continued growth. We couldn't be more excited to move into the neighborhood."
