WATCH: See If You Can Beat the Friendly's 'Bottomless Pancakes' Deal

WATERTOWN, MA — On Thursday, Friendly’s announced that it will be offering “bottomless pancakes” for $5.99 to its 260 locations across the nation. Here’s how to make the restaurant chain eat its words.

According to Major League Eating, the world record for pancake eaters is an astonishing 50 Wild Eggs pancakes – each weighing 3.25 ounces - consumed in Louisville, Kentucky in 2012.

To reach this lofty plateau, here are some key pancake-eating tips to keep in mind, via Punny.org.

• “Don’t eat the butter. It’s heavy and a few lumps of it will fill a pancake’s worth of stomach space.”
• “Keeping some eggs and bacon around for round two made it easier to get through more pancakes… Otherwise, if all you’re eating is pancakes, you may get sick of them pretty quickly.”
• “Be sure to tackle each pancake individually rather than eating multiple layers of pancake at once… Lots of air can sit between pancakes, and that air can fill your poor tummy fast.”

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

According to a Jan. 12 news release from the folks at Friendly’s:

“For the wallet-friendly price of $5.99, guests can now indulge in an all-you-can-eat Bottomless Pancake experience featuring three golden, fluffy pancakes, griddled-to-order and served with butter and syrup.”

The pancakes contain allergens including eggs, soy, wheat and milk. A single “refill” – three pancakes – contains 433 calories, 15 grams of total fat (eight grams saturated fat), 66 mg of cholesterol, 789 mg of sodium and 17 grams of sugar.
