WATCH: MA Market Worker's Singing Voice Stuns Customers
The 23-year-old's talent was unknown before he volunteered to do a sound check Friday at Russo's in Watertown.

WATERTOWN, MA β Unsuspecting shoppers at Russo's Market in Watertown were treated to a holiday concert by one of the store's employees over the weekend. Guilherme Assuncao, known as "Gilly," performed songs like "O Holy Night" and "Con Te PartirΓ²" in a booming voice that had gone undiscovered until Friday night.
Russo's owner Tony Russo told the Boston Globe he had no idea the 23-year-old Brazilian native could sing until Assuncao volunteered to do a sound check on equipment for classical performers at the market. In between songs by local performers on Saturday and Sunday, he was asked to sing for the crowd.
Three videos of Assuncao singing were shared to the Russo's Facebook page. One video, in which a cluster of shoppers begins to form while Assuncao belts out "O Holy Night" while wearing his white Russo's uniform, had over 20,000 views as of Monday afternoon.
