Watertown Boy 'Play Ball Kid' At Weekend Sox Game

Pan-Mass Challenge Pedal Partner Max Tocchio helped kick off Saturday's Sox game during PMC Day at Fenway.

WATERTOWN, MA – A Watertown resident was the designated "Play Ball Kid" at PMC Day at Fenway Park on Saturday. Max Tocchio was one of the Pan-Mass Challenge Pedal Partners, pediatric cancer patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic who acted as bat boys and girls and served as the official "Play Ball Kid" prior to the start of the Sox-Tigers game.

The Red Sox recognized PMC Pedal Partners and riders on Saturday, June 10. "Living Proof" riders – participants who have gone through or are currently undergoing cancer treatment – rode in a special parade around the warning track, which preceded the official reveal of this year's PMC logo on the Green Monster.

This year, more than 6,200 cyclists riding 192 miles with the goal of raising $48 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Funds raised by the PMC account for more than 52 percent of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue, helping to fund cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber.
