Watertown Gets New Meters In Municipal Lots, On-Street

WATERTOWN, MA β€” Watertown will start installing new meters to its municipal lots and on-street metered parking spaces next week.

The new meters will accept credit cards as well as coins. In the near future, mobile payment by cell phone will also be accepted, the town said.

Metered parking is required Monday through Saturday except holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A new parking fee of $1 per hour is in place, except in the Wells Avenue Lot and along Nichols Avenue, where the fee will be $.50 per hour.

Credit card transactions and in the future mobile payment will have a $1.00 minimum fee and a service fee of $.25.
