Watertown Police Chief to Community: Thank You

This announcement from the police chief thanking the community was sent to all Watertowners on Sunday evening: 

 

Chief Edward Deveau and the Watertown Police Department would like to thank the citizens and community of Watertown for the overwhelming show of support and appreciation to the members of the Watertown Police Department during this time of recovery. 

Chief Deveau would also like to recognize the members of the Watertown Fire Department and Public Works for the commitment and professionalism they displayed from the outset of this critical incident; the rolls they played truly made a difference in the outcome of this situation. 

From very early on Friday morning the Watertown Police Department made many requests of the citizens and business owners of this community. Throughout the entire day you demonstrated your patience, cooperation and willingness to work with us and alongside us during this event. We called on you for your service to this community and you delivered; and for this we the Watertown Police Department are truly thankful.
