Watertown Recreation Department Hires New Head Clerk
Kim Shortt, a lifelong Watertown resident, begins her tenure Monday.

Watertown, MA β The Watertown Recreation Department welcomes a new face Monday as Kim Shortt begins her tenure as head clerk.Β
Peter Centola, director of recreation, and Assistant Director Ernie Thebado, announced the hiring in a Facebook post onΒ Monday.
Shortt, a lifelong Watertown resident active in athletics both as a player and coach, comes to the department after aboutΒ 25 years as an auditor at Costco Wholesale Corporation.Β

Shortt is a former field hockey, basketball and softball player at Watertown High; she has also worked with the recreationΒ department extensively during her time as a coach of biddy basketball and middle school field hockey. Currently, she serves as the volunteer treasurer of the Watertown Youth Lacrosse board of directors.Β
She assumes the roleΒ from outgoing head clerk Maureen Foley.
