Watertown Savings Bank (WSB) now collecting items for Operation American Soldier (OAS) in each of their nine branch locations.

WATERTOWN – February, 2015-- Watertown Savings Bank (WSB) will collect items for Operation American Soldier (OAS) in each of their nine branch locations, beginning Friday, February 27th, through Wednesday, March 18th. WSB employees will soon participate in a cheer box packing night at the Marine Corps. League in Watertown.

β€œOur goal is to ship as many boxes of cheer as possible,” says OAS co-founder Wendy Rocca. Wendy and her husband, John started OAS back in 2003. They, along with hundreds of OAS volunteers, have prepared and shipped care packages to more than 10,000 men and women serving in the Armed Forces. Three of the Rocca’s four children have served in the military.

Examples of items that are currently much needed by soldiers: small packages of Q tips, beef jerky, trial size hand sanitizer and gold bond, small cans of fruit with tabs, Slim Jims, small boxes of cereal, tuna or salmon packets, chicken or tuna with crackers, and drink singles.
