The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Presented by WTP

Wellesley Theatre Project Presents THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
March 28-31 and April 4-7 at The Wellesley Theatre Project Studio Theater

Join us at “Putnam County Middle School” as Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) presents THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE March 28th, 29th, 30th and April 4th, 5th and 6th at 7:00PM and March 30th, 31st, and April 6th and 7th at 2:00PM. All performances will take place at the Wellesley Theatre Project Studio Theatre at The Wellesley Community Center, located at 219 Washington St.Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. Tickets are priced $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at http:// wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door for $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Winner of the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for Best Book, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE follows six eclectic middle schoolers as they vie for the spelling bee trophy. Join the spellers as they share their stories, while hoping to avoid the soul-crushing “ding” that signals a misspelled word. Complete with audience participation, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is a fast-paced, witty comedy that you won’t want to miss!

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE features fifteen students between the ages of twelve and seventeen, who make up two talented casts Cast members of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE reside in Wellesley as well as neighboring communities including Dover, Natick, Newton, Needham, and Waban.

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE production staff includes: Ben Rush, Director & Scenic Designer; Eric Anderson Jr., Music Director; SeifAllah Salotto-Cristobal, Lighting Designer; Alexa Lambert, Stage Manager; John Stembridge, Assistant Director; and Cristina Gomez, Assistant Director. Book and Lyrics are by Marcy Heisler, with music by Zina Goldrich. THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is conceived by Rebecca Feldman, with additional material by Jay Reiss. Music and Lyrics are by William Finn and the book is by Rachel Sheinkin. THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is produced through special arrangements with Musical Theatre International.

Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK - 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.

Registration is open for WTP’s Winter/Spring semester, which include weekly classes in theatre, acting, musical theatre dance, tap, improvisation, private voice lessons, and musical theatre for students Pre-K through 12th grade. Registration is also open for WTP’s 2019 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K- 12th grade. The production camps are: A Year With Frog and Toad, KIDS! (Grades 2-8), Mary Poppins (Grades 2-12), and Bright Star (Grades 8-12).
