Drunken Driver Causes Crash In Wellesley, Drives Away

Police found the driver a short time after the crash was reported.

WELLESLEY, MA — Wellesley police arrested a woman on July 25 after police said she crashed into a car on Washington Street while under the influence of alcohol, and then drove away.

Police received a call about a crash on Washington Street near Maugus Avenue where one of the car had driven away. The car that drove away left a registration plate that police used to track down the car, which was just a bit farther down Washington Street at Eaton Court.

When police pulled the driver over, the woman smelled of alcohol and had trouble answering officers questions, police said.
