James and the Giant Peach, Jr. Presented by WTP

Wellesley Theatre Project presents James and the Giant Peach Jr. on July 27th at 7pm and July 28th at 2pm and 5pm at Wellesley High School.

July 27th and 28th at Wellesley High School

Join us for this "masterpeach" of a tale as Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) presents, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. Friday, July 27th at 7pm and Saturday, July 28th at 2pm and 5pm. All performances will take place at the Katherine L. Babson Auditorium at Wellesley High School, located at 50 Rice St. Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. Tickets are priced $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at http://wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door for $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Based on the famous novel, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. follows James as he is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree. There, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.

Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. features a talented cast of forty students between the ages of seven and fourteen that comprise an energetic cast of characters! Cast members of Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. reside in Wellesley as well as neighboring communities including Auburndale, Concord, Dedham, Franklin, Natick, Needham, Newton, Waltham, and Weston.

The Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. production staff includes: Ben Rush, Director & Scenic Designer; Luciana Fionda, Choreographer; Jennie McGuinness, Music Director; Seif Cristobal; Lighting Designer; Ken Rush, Costume Designer; and Alexa Lambert, Stage Manager. Based on the book James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, the book is by Timothy Allen McDonald and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. WTP is producing Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Jr. through special arrangements with Music Theatre International.

Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK - 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.

Registration is open for WTP’s 2018 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K- 12th grade. The remaining production camp is Big Fish, The Musical (Grades 9-12).

Registration is open for WTP’s Fall classes and productions of Junie B. Jones, Jr. and A Midsummer Nights Dream.
