Man Arrested After Traveling Several Miles With Police in Pursuit

The following reports were provided by the Wellesley Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 10

1:32 p.m.: While monitoring traffic on Route 9, Detective Connelly checked on the license plate of a vehicle that traveled by. A reported indicated that the registration for the vehicle had been revoked and officers began to pursue the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle continued driving for several miles but eventually stopped at a business in Natick. Brian Kaufman, 35, of 10 Lake Rd., Wayland was arrested and charged with operating with a suspended license, operating with a suspended vehicle registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failure to stop by for a police officer.

12:33 p.m.: During the morning roll call report, officers with the Wellesley Police Department were informed of a person wanted by the Massachusetts State Police for three warrants. While observing traffic at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 16, Officer Brooks observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle owned by the wanted man and, after running the vehicle’s license plate number, learned that this vehicle was owned by the wanted man. Brooks stopped the vehicle on Route 9 and arrested Bruce D Berrian Jr., 55, of 171 Tremont St., Boston. Berrian faced one warrant out of Wareham District Court for larceny over $250 and two unrelated warrants out of Barnstable District Court for larceny over $250. In addition, Berrian was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
