Markey Wins Fifty-Six Percent of Wellesley Votes
The Democrat took home more than 4,000 votes from Wellesley residents in the special Senate election.

With more than 7,000 voters heading to the polls in town, Wellesley residents picked Democrat Ed Markey over Republican Gabriel Gomez in the special Senate election.
Markey won 4,138 votes, or 56 percent of the total votes cast in town, compared to Gomez's 3,137. Richard Heos got 11 votes from Wellesley residents.
Markey's win in Wellesley and many other towns across the commonwealth were enough to carry him to victory. The race was called in favor of Ed Markey just after 9 p.m.
