MassBay Staff Offer Virtual Help To Students Prepping For Classes
Staff are offering virtual help to students preparing for the start of the fall semester.
WELLESLEY, MA — MassBay Community College staff will be available remotely on Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., via phone, email, or live chat to assist students in preparing for the start of the fall semester on Sept. 8. Prospective students, new students, and returning students can apply for admission to the College, register for classes, pay their tuition bills, ask questions about financial aid, speak with an advisor, and more.
Due to COVID-19, and putting the safety of our community first, MassBay announced in early June that all courses would be held either online or in a remote format, with the limited exception of some hands-on labs for automotive technology, biotechnology, and health sciences.
“Many students and families are reconsidering their plans as colleges around the nation are canceling their in-person classes,” said MassBay Interim Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, Alison McCarty. “MassBay is a great value for those wishing to maintain a strong academic program this fall at a much lower cost. A full course load for a year averages under $7,000 – less than half what people will pay at most four-year colleges. We are also a great option for students to earn credits they can apply to their Bachelor’s Degree program while taking a gap year. Students can take one class, or as many as they please, and progress at their own pace for the coming year.”
