Nancy Malone, Longtime Counselor at The Center for Weight Loss Surgery, Dies at 69
Malone passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer. Services are this week.

Nancy Malone of Waltham entered into eternal rest following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer on June 4, 2015, at the Tippett Home in Needham at the age of 69. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her journey.
Nancy was born on July 22, 1945, to the late Senator Russell and Corinne Niquette. She was raised in Winooski, Vermont and spent the summers at her family’s camp on Lake Champlain. Nancy graduated from Rice Memorial High School in 1964. She went on to Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Manchester New Hampshire, where she became a registered nurse and was the recipient of the school’s “Excellence in Nursing” award.

On September 9, 1972, Nancy married the love of her life, Rosario “Russ” Malone and they settled in Waltham. She created a loving home for her family and continued her career as a nurse at Waltham Hospital and various doctor’s offices. She retired in 2013 after working for many years at The Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she specialized in nutrition education and counseling.
Nancy treasured her two daughters. She enthusiastically celebrated every special moment in their lives. There was always a blessing to embrace, a song to be sung, and a hug to be given. One of her favorite days of the year was her traditional birthday tea with her girls. Of all the things she did in life, nothing compared to being a mother.

Nancy adored her grandchildren and loved having them over to her house. Nanny could be found playing Barbies, dress-up or riding bikes with her granddaughter and playing golf, baseball, and blocks with her grandson. She proudly attended every single dance recital, play, and concert.
Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed sitting by her fireplace and the lake or ocean with a good book. She loved to garden, take walks, and listen to classical music.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, caring, loyal woman who loved unconditionally and gave without question.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years Rosario “Russ” Malone, her loving and devoted daughters Tracy Malone-Black and her husband Corey Black of Billerica, and Cara Malone of Waltham; two cherished grandchildren Bryn and Bowen; her sister Mary Jane Demur and her husband Antonio of Alexandria, Virginia, her brothers Russell Niquette Jr. of Colchester, Vermont and Randall Niquette of Plattsburgh, New York. She also leaves numerous relatives including aunts, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning June 13th at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Nancy’s Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Committal ceremonies will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday June 11th and Friday June 12th from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
