The route will run similar to the existing Monday through Friday Routes 1 and 9.

WELLESLEY, MA — The new MetroWest Regional Transit Authority Saturday Route is set tot start this Saturday. The bus will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and give riders the option to get to the MBTA Greenline via the Woodland Station on Saturdays.

The route is set to run similar to the existing Monday through Friday Routes 1 and 9. Service starts at the Halstead Apartments in Framingham, and rides along Route 9 to the Woodland Station. The route will make limited stops at Framingham State (High St.), the Natick Mall, the 9/27 Plaza, Oak St. Natick, and Weston Rd. Wellesley.

The new route is funded by MassDOT Discretionary Funding. To help promote the new route, MWRTA ran a contest through January. The contest allowed riders to send in their ideas for a creative name for this new route. MWRTA received a lot of great entries, and the winner chosen was, the Greenline Connector.
