New Wellesley Transit Service To Replace MWRTA Route 8 Bus
The MWRTA is replacing the Route 8 bus in Wellesley with a pilot program called CatchConnect starting on Feb. 15.
WELLESLEY, MA — Service for the Route 8 bus that runs through Wellesley will end on February 15. The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority is replacing the route with the pilot micro-transit program, CatchConnect.
The MWRTA is hosting virtual office hours from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and at the same time on Feb. 15. to share information about the program.
CatchConnect is the new app that will launch on Feb. 15. The transit service allows users to book a ride in the Catch bus and be dropped off in any location in Wellesley. The MWRTA is waiving fares for the service right now and customers will receive a $3.00 promotional credit when they sign up that can be used once fare collection has resumed.

Like the Route 8 bus, the CatchConnect service will offer rides to and from destinations in Wellesley and select parts of Natick and Newton. The Catch program differs from the bus service as it is an on-demand service, similar to Uber or Lyft.
